The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars

JSL WWICS Bus Card

Since 2005, I have been a Senior Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The Wilson Center is the living, national memorial to President Wilson.  It was established by Congress in 1968 and is a nonpartisan institution, supported by public and private funds, engaged in the study of national and world affairs.

My first contact with the Wilson Center came in 2004, when I was invited to present a "Director's Forum" on the subject of the Transnational University, which you can read here or view here.

My most recent talk at the Wilson Center concerned the question of how China's first American-style law school should be understood.  You can read it here.
